Philippines: Disaster Management Services Manager

Principal Purpose:

Effective and efficient management of Disaster Management Service programs through the:

a) Preparation of communities for disaster management and response in the dissemination of information, awareness, training of manpower.

b) Providing immediate relief to disaster victims and continuous assistance as necessitated.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

1) Formulate programs and policies in relation to the different phases of the disaster management continuum

a) Initiates programs that will enable Chapters to respond immediately to disaster situations in their areas.

b) Initiate programs making it a requirement for all chapter personnel involved in relief operations to submit complete documents as a result of said operation.

c) Coordinates and consults with departments and chapters concerned on programs and projects before actual implementation.

2) Ensures the availability of logistics and its delivery for efficient and effective disaster management.

3) Oversees locally and foreign funded projects and programs for disaster preparedness and response as well as rehabilitation and development.

4) Provides situational reports to office concern.

5) Represents Philippine Red Cross on disaster management training, seminars, conferences symposia and sits as a member at the National Disaster Coordinating Council.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:

Completed a college degree preferably Social Sciences and equivalent.

With 5 years experience on Disaster Relief Operation or Disaster Management preferably with supervisory position.

Must be familiar with Philippine Red Cross standard operations and procedures.
